Show Notes

Today I am going to do something a bit different. I will post my regular weekly conversation episode tomorrow. But there is something that I need to address relating to a particular political ideology that is unfortunately capturing more and more of our mainstream institutions and political parties. I think it is important that we understand what is going on here and recognize the philosophical war being waged on enlightenment liberalism in our culture.

In this episode I look at the section of the Ontario Governments new mathematics curriculum titled “An equitable mathematics curriculum recognizes that mathematics can be subjective” and attempt to highlight the ideological capture of both education policy and Ontario's Conservative Party that has taken place by postmodernism and critical race theory.

For me this was an exercise in trying to understand the implications of the language used in this document and what it represents in our culture.

Update: Late Tuesday night July 13th the government removed the section in question.
